 Vessel  takes my work with space and shadow to an extreme.  In many ways this is a direct referal to the female form.   A magnificient change occurs bringing life into the world through a woman.  This Vessel is a statement of beauty in face of violent yet silent changes that occur when giving life to a child.

Dawson's eye catching forms, glazes, and textures are designed to instill curiosity.  You feel inclined to touch, and take a second look to better understand the piece.  Many of the Conversation Bowls are natural colors added to the clay then mixed together creating depth that is unique to each piece.  

Ceramic art should look hand made.  We have become a mass producing society, to some that is acceptable but the artists 'hand print" is a valuable feature.  Essentially Dawson's statement is clear.  Her artworks are one of a kind originals rather than production pieces.
